She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with highest honors with a degree in Human Nutrition and Food Science. Upon graduation, she moved to Albuquerque to complete a dietetic internship with the University of New Mexico.

Dawn is a trusted food & nutrition expert appearing regularly in national media outlets such as The Dr. Oz Show, USA Today, Dateline, Newsweek, Cooking Light and WebMD. She is the nutrition consultant for the Chicago Cubs, a food and nutrition blogger with USA Today and Huffington Post and a nutrition expert on the advisory board of Fitness magazine. She has a private practice based in Chicago, IL providing personalized nutrition counseling and educational workshops.

Dawn writes health and wellness articles for national magazines such as Fitness, Health, Yoga Journal and Vegetarian Times. Julie K. Karen
Dermatologist, Beyond Clear

Julie K. Karen, MD is a board certified dermatologist and new spokesperson for Beyond Clear, a revolutionary new acne system that goes beyond just clearing breakouts to give you softer, smoother, more beautiful skin.  Dr. Karen specializes in the treatment of cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic and laser surgery.  She has a unique passion for acne, as so many of her teen and adult patients suffer from this skin condition.

Dr. Karen graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and played varsity soccer. She received her medical degree from the Weill Medical College of Cornell University where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honors society, and graduated first in her class. Dr. Karen received the Clarence C. Coryell Prize for highest achievement in medicine, the John Metcalf Polk Prize for top scholastic performance, and the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Award given to the top female graduate. She completed her residency training at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University (NYU) Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident and received the Morris Leider Award for Excellence in Dermatology. Dr. Karen completed a Procedural Dermatology Fellowship at NYU and Memorial Sloan-Kettering.

Dr. Karen is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the NYU School of Medicine and teaches dermatologic surgery to the NYU Dermatology residents. She has published numerous articles and chapters in the field of dermatology, including recent publications in the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
