Meditation—Fabulous for Inner and Outer Beauty

You don’t have to be a Yogi much less a spiritual guru to try meditation. There are various benefits from the practice of “training your mind to self induce a mode of relaxed consciousness.” The act of meditation often results in stress reduction, tranquility and even increased levels of happiness. If those factors alone don’t encourage you to try this technique, what about the fact there are several Hollywood celebs who incorporate meditation into their daily lives?

Now that you know who is transcending in tinsletown, here are some tips for getting started. First, find a quiet place where you can go uninterrupted for at least 15 minutes. Yes, you heard correct. 15-20 minutes is all it takes to meditate, although some people prefer a longer amount of time.

Next, lay down in the area you have selected and get comfortable. As an option, get a towel or eyemask to cover your eyes. You are ready to start. While counting to 5, take deep breaths in and out of your body. As you inhale, imagine that you are breathing in pure energy. As you exhale, tell your conscious mind that you are unloading negative thoughts and emotions. You can repeat this breathing to a point where all thoughts clear your mind and you are near a sleep state. Meditation and sleeping do in fact differ so do your best to remain awake but relaxed. If that sounds a little intimidating, guided meditations are a great tool to use as well. The exercises provide you with music and instructions during the process to help you reach a deeper, internal state.

You would be amazed at the fabulous feelings produced by 15 minutes of meditation. Even better is the power you gain in taking this time for yourself on a daily basis. If you still need some convincing, here is insight from Russell Simmons, who states that meditation “has given me energy, strength, health, wisdom, and access to my own inner stillness, inner silence, inner bliss. It is my connection to myself; it is my connection to the universe." What could be more fabulous than that? We can only thing of one thing, Pamper Me Fabulous on November 13th.
